Ashlyn Ackerman

Head of Design for Weyland Ventures’ Common Bond Hotel Collection, Ashlyn Ackerman’s work is reflective of her love of community-driven and people-focused designs, incorporating historic preservation and adaptive reuse. Common Bond Hotel Collection is the realization of Ashlyn’s passion, blending nostalgia with new, creating a bespoke series of boutique hotels unmatched in concept. A native of Jasper, IN, Ackerman graduated with both her bachelor’s and master’s from Ball State University, where her graduate work focused on strategies integrating urban design to combat “brain drain” in her hometown. After relocating to Louisville in 2013, Ackerman fell in love with the city. Her commitment to historic preservation and responsible growth transcends the office, currently serving on the Louisville landmarks commission in a personal capacity. Like a true Louisvillian, Ackerman enjoys horseracing and spending time exploring the rich layers of culture and food the city has to offer. Ackerman is also an avid baker, dog lover, and mid-century modern enthusiast. She lives in Louisville with her husband and their two dogs.
